Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryORLIE THOMAS JOHNSON Peacefully on October 5, 2007, Orlie Johnson passed away at Minnedosa Hospital at 77 years old. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Marjorie; daughter Kathy Johnson (Jeff Lawson); sons, David (Lori) Johnson and Tom (Evelyn) Johnson and grandchildren, Tyler, Kyle, Mattie, Sarah, Piper, Christopher, Nicholas, Turner, Madison and many friends and relatives. Orlie was born in Kendall, Saskatchewan to Elsie and Russell Johnson. He left home to work with HBMS in Flin Flon, Manitoba, where he met his wife, Marjorie Lyon. He moved to Kenora, Ontario to work with Marr's Leisure Products as a Sales Representative. Through his ability to work well with people, Orlie advanced to Vice President of Manufacturing. His career with Marr's allowed him to live in several communities including Kenora, Fort William, Winnipeg, Neepawa, Rivers and Brandon. After leaving Marr's, Orlie helped grow Fleeceline Ventures and then MCS in Brandon. Orlie returned to the R.V. industry to manage Hunter's Trailer and Marine in Edmonton, Alberta. Upon his retirement in 1990, Orlie and Marjorie moved to Summerland, BC to enjoy a warmer climate and a longer golf season. In order to be closer to family and the cottage at Kerr's Lake, his retreat for over 30 years, Orlie and Marjorie made their home in Minnedosa. Orlie was involved in the community by joining the Minnedosa golf club, curling league, the Legion and the Lions Club where he participated in many of their fundraising activities. Through his involvement in the many communities he lived, Orlie met many people and gained lifelong friendships. Orlie had the unique ability to leave a lasting impression with his presence and charismatic personality. His integrity and positive influence will be his legacy. Orlie was a devoted husband, an amazing father, grandfather and a true friend. It has been a privilege and an honour to have been in your life, Orlie. We love you. A memorial service will be held at the The Covenant Church, 101 4th Avenue SW in Minnedosa On Thursday, October 11, at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Garry MacDowall officiating. A private family interment will be held at the Riverside Cemetery in Neepawa. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be sent to Minnedosa Hospital.
