MARGARET MCLAUGHLIN MCCLURE (nee KING) February 8, 1923 October 6, 2007 Peacefully on Saturday October 6, 2007, Margaret passed away at Riverview Health Centre at the age of 84 years. Margaret will be sadly missed by her two daughters, Arlene (Doug) and Brenda; grandchildren, Matthew, Byron, Dayna (Tim), Jayme (Cam), Ryan (Lauren); great-grandchildren, Keianna and Eden. She is also survived by her brothers, John (Grace) and Neil (Hazel); sister Irene, many nieces, nephews, and brother and sister-in-laws. She was predeceased by her husband James in 1996. Margaret was a generous and loving person who enjoyed golf (hole in one), curling (8 ender), bowling and most importantly watching the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Much of Margaret's life was involved with the Sons of Scotland , serving as chief of Lord Selkirk Camp and District Chief. Margaret cherished her time spent with family at their cottage's fishing, boat rides and swimming. She was employed in her early life with the T. Eaton Co. and later with the Greater Winnipeg Gas Co. Our family would like to thank the staff of Riverview Health Centre and St. Norbert Personal Care Home for their care of mom. Brenda and Arlene would like to sincerely thank Allan and Bette McClure (brother-in-law), John and Grace King, Bernice Grey and Lauren Schneider for spending quality time with mom. A special thanks goes out to Helen Younger for her friendship and many meals she cooked for mom. A memorial service will be held on Thursday October 11, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home and Cemetery Hwy. #1 East at Navin Rd. with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, if so desired donations may be made in Margaret's memory to the Winnipeg Humane Society.
