EDWIN KIHN Our irreplaceable husband, step dad, son, brother, uncle, and friend passed away the morning of October 8, 2007 after cancer had overwhelmed this strong and active man. He was predeceased by his parents Adolf Kihn and Emilia (nee Peter), brothers Paul, Wilhelm, Heinrich, Karl, Rudolph, and sister Valerie Michaud who happily now reunite with him. He is survived by his loving and kind wife Geraldine May (nee Hudson) who spent countless hours caring for him at home and at Riverview Health Centre, her children Joan, Aline, Gary, Hazel, William, Margaret, Todd, Richard, Charlene, and Robert, his step and great-step grandchildren, and his sisters Evelyn Barkman and Laura Desrosier, all their families, and his special niece Virginia. Edwin was born December13, 1931. He left home at an early age to make his way in the world, and had lived many places from Ontario to British Columbia but had lived most of his life in Winnipeg. Throughout his life he had learned many trades: carpentry, glazing, landscaping etc. He never failed to use the things he learned to bless the lives of others. Edwin also loved fishing, gardening, storytelling, and taking care of the pets (especially Scooby and Woodrow) Even though he had no children of his own, he held a special place in his heart for his wife's and his sisters' children. He hurt for their disappointments and rejoiced for their accomplishments, but he was too reserved to show it or to say it. Edwin, in his later years, and Geraldine also cared for their great-niece Virginia since she was born. He walked many miles pushing her in a stroller, pulling her in a cardboard box, and taking her to the many parks in the city. She and her mother will be forever grateful to both of them for the love and care they have shown. In a quiet moment after his illness had set in, he was asked if he had any particular thoughts. He said that everybody should forgive each other for everything and that everybody should love each other no matter what . Wise words from this husband, son, brother, uncle, step dad, and friend who will live forever in our hearts and the eternities. Until we meet again. A special thanks to the staff at Riverview Health Centre. Prayers will be held on Thursday, October 11 at 7:00 pm at Cropo Funeral Chapel 1442 Main St. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 12 at 1:00 p.m. also at the Chapel with Rev. Lorraine MacKenzie Shepherd officiating. Interment will follow in Brookside Cemetery. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
