MARION MARGARET BURGESS (nee JAMIESON) October 7, 1926 October 7, 2007 Peacefully after a lengthy illness and with family at her side. Marion was a devoted wife and mother, to whom family was central. Marion was predeceased by her husband Jack in 2003 and by her big brothers, Bob, Andy and Dunc. She is survived by her sons, John (Laura), Andrew (Julie), Ron (Vicki) and daughter Claire; and by grandchildren, Taylor, Evan, Alex, Jackie and one soon to arrive. Born and raised in Vancouver, Mom met Dad while working at the shipyards. Married soon after, they made their way to Winnipeg in 1959 after 13 years in Toronto where all four children were born. Eventually Mom came to call Winnipeg home. Mom was an avid reader, introducing many new authors to her family over the years, stopping only recently due to her illness. We fondly remember family camping trips with the six of us packed into the station wagon with all our gear, with various destinations from Ontario to British Columbia. The family wishes to thank the staff at Cancer Care and Riverview Health Centre 3E for all of their support during Mom's illness. In lieu of flowers, donations could be made in Mom's name to a charity of your choice, she supported them all. A service will be held Friday, October 12, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Andrews Anglican Church, 2700 Portage Ave.
