DENNIS EDMUND MACNEIL April 14, 1941 - October 5, 2007 Suddenly on Friday, Dennis MacNeil, beloved husband of Judy and father of Ian, passed away at home with his loving wife by his side. Dennis was predeceased by his parents John Robert and Mary O'Reilly MacNeil, brother Kenny and sister Patsy. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 33 years, Judy and children Ian, Kenny, Michelle (Santana and Georgina), Cathy (Robert and great grandson Robert Keigan Gillis); his siblings Joan (Fred), Johnny, Tommy, Eleanor, Donnie (Yvette), Sheila, Rod, Gerry and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Dennis was born in Glace Bay, Cape Breton, N.S. One of his first jobs was coal mining in Glace Bay. In the mid 60's after many trainings and employments he traveled from coast to coast for many years. Upon a return visit home to Glace Bay in 1972, Dennis would meet his future wife, Judy. Soon after they moved to Winnipeg for several years, then finally to the beautiful little town of Gimli, where Dennis worked for Saunders Aircraft. Gimli would bring the birth of his son, Ian and the opening of D.J.'s Hairstyling with his wife, Judy. It would remain his home for the rest of his life. Dennis was a proud member of the R.C.L. # 182 in Gimli, a dedicated Blue Bomber and Jets fan, and could never turn down a good game of cards with the boys . Judy would like to give special thanks to Toots, Hal and Mary for their support and friendship through the years. Also a big thank you to Dr. Wiesenthal, Gimli Hospital and the home care workers. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Gimli in care of arrangements.
