Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN KOLIDA It is with deepest sorrow that our family announces the passing of our dear father, grandfather and brother John Kolida. Born August 4, 1924, passed away October 9, 2007 at the Concordia Hospital. John was born and raised in East Kildonan. He attended Polson School and East Kildonan Collegiate. John served in the Canadian Forces, five years overseas, where he met and married his wife Anna in Holland. They raised four children, Glen (Rose), Jerry (Shelley), Maryann (Murray) and Brian, also five grandchildren, David, Kevin, Tamara, Sherilyn and Scott. John was predeceased by his beloved wife Anna, father Luke, and mother Maria, as well as three sisters, Nell, Ollie and Julia and brother Walter. He is survived by two sisters, Kaye and Ann and sister-in-law Jean, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Returning from the service, he worked for the C.P.R., Post Office and University of Winnipeg. His favourite pastimes were bowling, playing cards and bingo. The family would like to sincerely thank Dr. Mohammed and staff at the Concordia Hospital for their compassionate care. A memorial service in celebration of John's life will be held Friday, October 12 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Ave. Rest in Peace. We love you and will miss you.
