ROSEBJORG (ROSE) CLYDE Peacefully, on October 11, 2007, Rosebjorg (Rose) Clyde (nee Thorlacius) passed away at the age of 84 years. Rose was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Eugene Clyde (2002), and by her parents, Jona and Bjarni Thorlacius. She is survived by her sons, Kurt (Nancy) of Winnipeg and Rick (Jay-Ann) of Regina, and by her grandchildren, Gary, Brennan, Pamela, and Connor Clyde. She is also survived by her brother, Jon (Elizabeth) of Lethbridge, AB and their families, as well as by her sister-in-law, Nora Clyde of Kamsack, SK. Rose was born on the family farm near Leslie, SK on October 31, 1922. After graduation from high school, she attended Normal School in Saskatoon. In 1942, she began her teaching career. Throughout her more than 40 years in the education field, she taught in Wadena, Kamsack, Saskatoon, and Winnipeg (Winnipeg School Division #1), retiring in 1986. Rose enjoyed her career immensely. As well as being a classroom teacher, Rose taught special needs and gifted children. Rose was an active member of the Jon Sigurdson Chapter of the IODE and a long time member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority. Rose and Gene enjoyed travelling, with trips to Europe, Hawaii, the continental United States and throughout Canada. Being fiercely proud of her Icelandic heritage, Rose was thrilled to connect with her roots with a trip to Iceland in 1988. Rose's large heart and work ethic served her well in guiding her family, friends, and students. She brought joy and love to her family and provided a warm friendship to the many she knew over the years. We wish to thank all the staff at Oakview Place Extendicare for their compassionate care over the past three years. We also wish to thank all her friends, as well as her care companion, Linda Mills, for visiting Mom regularly during her stay at Oakview. Memorial service will be held on Monday, October 15, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home. Arrangements entrusted to: Glen Eden Funeral Home 4477 Main Street 338-7111
