THOMAS HOOD February 8, 1919 - October 11, 2007 Peacefully Dad went to be with his wife in the arms of Jesus. Dad will now be running and walking with his sweetheart. Thomas is survived by his three children Brian (Viola), Marian McInnes (Rick) and Cheryl. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and 11 great-grand kids. Dad was born in Kilbirnie, Scotland and shortly after immigrated to Winnipeg to be with his father. Dad completed grade eight and went off to work in the mines in Ontario where he met his wife Doris. After they were married in 1941 they returned to Winnipeg where Dad began his career as a plumber and spent three years in the army. After the war Dad and Mom continued to live in Winnipeg and Dad continued in his plumbing career building up various businesses. After retiring Dad took up wood-working as a hobby making toys and numerous kitchen items for use by family and friends. In 1993 Dad suffered a severe stroke which confined him to a wheel chair, which did not stop him from caring about and loving his kids and grand kids. Dad got great joy from seeing the grandkids, whether involved in sports, school events or just at family outings. Dad moved into Misericordia Place in 2002, where he was close to Brian and his family. Dad enjoyed his time there as it allowed him spend quality time there with family and easy access for outings.
