EDWARD CUMMINS With his family at his side on October 11, 2007 Edward (Ted) Cummins passed away at Victoria General Hospital at 79 years of age. The family sadly announces the passing of Ted after a very short illness. He will be missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, Pauline and his daughter Yvonne (Zoli) and sons, Ian (Alison) and Paul (Yvette) and six grandchildren (Chad, Michelle, Erin, Braden, Charlee and Bradley). Ted is predeceased by his sister, Anne and his brothers, Jack and Bill all of Birkenhead, England. Many loving family members and dear friends in England will also miss Ted's humour, warmth and kindness. Ted was born on June 28, 1928 in Heswall, England. While working at Bowater's he met his wife Pauline. They married, celebrated their children's births and enjoyed life together in England living in Birkenhead and Ellesmere Port. Ted, together with his family, moved to Winnipeg in 1967 and worked at Bristol Aerospace until his retirement in June 1993. We will cherish many fond memories of him, be they bouncing the grandchildren on his knee, enjoying a proper pint, presenting his latest culinary creation or telling the stories of his years as a merchant seaman. He was always good company. Special thanks to Dr. Green and the staff on 5th Floor South at VGH for their compassion and attention. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 16 at 10:00 a.m. in Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Victoria General Hospital Foundation, 2340 Pembina Hwy., Winnipeg, MB R3T 9Z9 in Ted's memory would be appreciated.
