Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANGUS (BUD) SMITH June 22, 1928 - October 12, 2007 Peacefully with family at his side, Bud passed away after a courageous struggle on Friday, October 12, 2007 at the Grace General Hospital at the age of 79 years. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife Deidre of 47 years, son Brian (Dahinda); daughters, Brenda (Cliff) and Carlene; and his four grandchildren, Brandon, Cydney, Brittney, and Brent. His sisters, Irene, Edna (Art), Alma and brother Oakley (Pat); mother-in-law Hazel, brothers-in-law Ernie, Russ (Myrna) along with many nieces and nephews. Bud was predeceased by his parents George and Mayme, brother Hughie and sister May; father-in-law Albert. Bud was born June 22, 1928 in Winnipeg, MB. He attended Meadow Lea School, then worked at numerous jobs until he secured employment with Nelson River Construction and spent the next 30 years working for them, retiring in 1990. Bud was caretaker for the Meadow Lea cemetery for ten years. He was always willing to give a helping hand to anyone in need. Memorial service will be held on Monday, October 15 at 11:00 a.m. in the Meadow Lea Hall. Rev. Ross Taylor will officiate. Interment will take place in Meadow Lea Cemetery. If friends so desire memorial donations may be made to Meadow Lea Cemetery in care of the R.M. of Woodlands. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.
