Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJAMES ALEXANDER DAGG (DIGGER) On Wednesday, October 10, 2007, Jim peacefully passed away at home. Jim was predeceased by his wife Eleanor in 1998. He is survived by his daughters, Barb (Steve) Johnston, Kelly (Lance) Henderson, one son Tom (Ellie); grandchildren, Trevor, Keith, Cassandra and Noah as well as his two brothers, Harold (Eleanor) and Donald (Irene) and numerous nieces and nephews. Jim and Eleanor wed in Clanwilliam in 1964 where they started their family. In 1976, they moved to Winnipeg and settled in the Westwood area to raise the family. Jim worked for Midwest Drilling for 30 years. Although he enjoyed his work, it took him away from his family a lot. He always came home with many stories about his adventures at camp. In his retirement, Papa enjoyed time with his grandchildren of whom he was very very proud. Jim loved cooking and tried numerous times to run Eleanor out of the kitchen with some success. Sporting events were big with Jim, especially curling and baseball. The family would like to thank Dr. Stephensen at Assiniboine Clinic and special thanks to Dr. Rigatto at St. Boniface Hospital. A memorial service will take place on Monday, October 15, 2007 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home with a reception to follow. Memorial donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation. Arrangements entrusted to: Chapel Lawn Funeral Home 885-9715

I worked with Jim several times up north before I went overseas. Old Digger was famous in Canadian drilling circles for his gruff, tough highball appearance. I got to know him enough to see an old softie behind all that! He was one of the good ones for sure, and I'll look forward to bumping into him up in Diamond Driller Heaven! - Posted by: Laurie Cyr (Ex co-worker) on: Mar 31, 2019
