Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKAREN GAY HOLTSLAG Peacefully in her country home Karen Gay Holtslag passed away on September 19, 2007 at the age of 59. Karen was predeceased by her husband Allen; mother and father Lillian and Ken Crossley, and sister Sylvia. Karen is survived by her eldest son Quinn, his wife Bonnie and their son Cash; her youngest son Dustin; sister Kimberley, her husband Ken, and their children, Jennifer, Patricia and Kenny; brother Ken; brother Ralph and his children, Alex, Taylor and Elizabeth and Sylvia's children, Gregory, Ronda, Georgia and Stephen. Karen was born at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Gimli, MB. During her childhood, Karen lived in Rivers, Edmonton and Winnipeg while traveling with her family, who were stationed at Air Force bases in each city. After her father retired, the family settled down on Whytewold Road in Winnipeg. In 1969, Karen graduated from the Business Administration Program at Red River College. Later in 1978, she attained her CMA Designation. These programs helped groom her for positions with the Manitoba Department of Justice, the Ministry of Transport, the Air Administration, and Statistics Canada. Later, in 2002, upon retirement Karen attained her Master of Science in Information Technology from the University of New South Wales in Canberra, Australia. A gathering for friends and family will be held Monday, October 22, 2007 between 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Bourkevale Community Centre, located at 100 Ferry Road, in Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Children's Wish Foundation, (204) 945-9474 or a charity of one's choice.
