Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryERNEST FREDRICK SCHNEIDER, C.G.A. It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce that Ernest Schneider passed away on October 12, 2007, with his family at his side. Ernie will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years, Yvonne; son Fred; daughter-in-law Carol; grandchildren, Kelly, Samantha, Evan, Catherine, Gareth and wife Laurie; son David; daughter-in-law Brenda; grandson, Justin; daughter Nancy; daughter Barb; granddaughter Rebecca; sister Lynn; brother Allen; sisters-in-law Dorothy, Iris and Martha; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Ernie was born and raised in Winnipeg. He studied to become a Certified General Accountant and was working for the City of Winnipeg when he retired as a Senior Auditor. He was a Scouts Canada leader for many years and was active on the board of Regents Park Church. In his youth, Ernie was very involved in track and field and musical productions. His love of sports and music continued throughout his life, and he was a dedicated coach of baseball and hockey. He was a passionate fan of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, and a long-time season ticket holder. Ernie was a proud member of the Shrine Temple, Unit 101, where he and Yvonne participated in many social events and fund-raising projects. Ernie and Yvonne have always had a strong network of friends whose company they have enjoyed, and support they have appreciated. Nothing was more important to Ernie than his family. His never-ending support and quiet strength were valued by all. Our many fond memories of time spent with him, will be with us always. The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to Dr. James Sutherland, and Maureen, for their many years of care, and to the staff of St. Boniface Hospital. A memorial service will be held at Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway on Friday, October 19 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Shrine Temple (Transportation Fund) would be much appreciated.
