Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGUDFINNA ODNEY REED (HALLDORSSON) (nee SIGURDSON) Finna passed away peacefully on Friday, October 12, 2007 at the Victoria Hospital, surrounded by her family. She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Brian Halldorsson (Ruth) and daughter, Louise Halldorsson (Darryl); grandchildren, Debbie (Ron) Ashley, Joey (Jaymie) Avery and Corbin, Lisa (Scott) Ryan and Tanner, Robert, Zachary and Holly, Jade and Kiandra. She also leaves to mourn, her brothers, Sam, Frank (Helen), Barney (Dorothy), Marino and sister Helga; also many nieces and nephews. She will join her loved ones who passed away before her, parents, Jon and Sigrun; brothers, Lindal, Johann, John, Baldwin and Thor; sisters, Peggy and Gudrun; her first husband, Johannes Halldorsson; her second husband, David Reed; sons, Jon and Leslie; and most recently, her grandson, Joshua Jackman. Finna was very proud of her Icelandic heritage, especially her title of Amma. She was appreciated for her vinarterta, baking, cooking, gardening and canning. She was excellent at knitting, crocheting and as a seamstress. She was born in Vidir, MB and worked at her fathers Post Office, where she met and later married Johannes. She worked hard as a farmer's wife and enjoyed being a member of the Vidir Ladies Aid. After their move to Selkirk in 1961, she was a foster mom and worked as a nurses aid and the switchboard operator at the Selkirk Mental Health Center. After her marriage to David Reed and her move to Winnipeg in 1979, she enjoyed her home and garden, crafts, card playing and visits from her family and friends. Many thanks to the Convalescent Home of Winnipeg for their loving care this year. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 17 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel in Selkirk. Interment of ashes to take place at a later date in Vidir, MB. Goda nott mama min Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
