Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDONALDA (DONA) LOUISE FRIESEN Unexpectedly, on Saturday October 13, 2007 at her residence, Donalda Louise Friesen of Portage la Prairie, beloved wife of Lloyd Friesen passed away at the age of 68 years. A come and go tea in honour of Dona's life will be held in the Magnolia Reception Centre of the Omega Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A family interment will take place at a later date. Dona was born on September 11, 1939 daughter of Ernie and Mary Ray in Winnipeg, Manitoba were she was raised and received her education. She then worked for the school board for several years until 1965 when she married Lloyd Friesen. . With Lloyd being in the RCAF, they were stationed in several communities throughout Canada, eventually retiring in Portage la Prairie. Dona's greatest joy came from her grandchildren. Family was very important to her. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading and especially shopping. In her younger years she had a passion for riding horses. Predeceased by her parents, she leaves to mourn her passing her husband of 42 years Lloyd; her son Kurt (Raeanne) of Surrey, BC; grandchildren, Jessica and Evan; her daughter Pamela of Airdrie, Alberta; her daughter Wendi (Mike) of Okotoks, Alberta; grandchildren, Lane, Kiera and Sage. Also surviving is one brother Bill of Winnipeg, and several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by her dear friends Carol and Ed Strecker and family. Should friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Arthritis Society, Suite 105-386 Broadway Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 3R6.
