MARY LOUIS BILTON On Thursday, October 11, 2007 at 8:10 p.m., Mary passed away peacefully with her family by her side after a hard fought and courageous six year battle with stroke related Alzheimer/ Dementia disease. Mom was born in Regina, Saskatchewan to John and Flora Graham on February 27, 1938. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Flora Graham; her in-laws Gerald and Rose Bilton, step father in-law Wally Ashcroft; her son Grant Bilton; son John at birth; brother-in-law David Parks, and step brother in-law Gordon Ashcroft. Mary is survived by her loving husband of 49 years Frank; son Gerald II; daughter Joanne; grandson Gerald III; grandson Grant II; sisters, Flora, Helen, Morag, Dorothy, and Debbie; brother Ian; brothers-in-law Wayne, and Doug, step sister-in-law Gracie, as well as three great-grandchildren. Mom was known not only for her green thumb (and a plant room that would rival a lot of conservatories), sense of humor, but also for her yearly Christmas cakes she sent all of her family (and people actually ate them, asked her to send more, and not for doorstops!). Mary made many friends in her journey of life (far too many to mention and many more than she would admit to), and this was because she went out of her way to help and listen to anyone who needed her help or just needed a shoulder to cry on. In the final year of her life however, unfortunately it was Mom who needed the help of loved ones, and all the new friends she found over the past six years because of her illness. Frank, Gerry, Joanne and Buddy The Dog, would like to thank all the respite workers who came to visit Mom twice a week over the last three years, and especially her girlfriend Jane, who showed Mom all the love anyone could show another friend! We would also like to thank all the staff at Betel Home (Selkirk), Gimli Regional Hospital, and for the last three months, the incredible and compassionate staff at Tudor House (Selkirk). The last three months of Moms life were full of Love, Hugs, Kisses, Kindness, and laughs, and we couldn't have done it without you!(she made ya' laugh didn't she!) Mary will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. As per Mary's request, there will be no service, however a donation to the Heart and Stroke Fund would be appreciated.
