GERDA FROESE Gerda, beloved wife of Jacob passed away on October 13, 2007 at St. Boniface General Hospital. Gerda was born in East Prussia on May 24, 1929. Jacob and Gerda were married in Germany on August 6, 1949. They arrived in Canada on December 1, 1949, making Winnipeg their home. Besides her husband Jacob, she leaves to mourn her three sisters and their families in Germany; Ella Brockmann, Herta Meyer and Eva (Rudi) Radde. Gerda had been very active in the First Mennonite Church. She had a love of life and was always cheerful, full of energy and had a warm smile for everyone. She loved to cook and bake for others and she also loved her garden and her flowers. She and Jake went on many hunting and fishing adventures over the years. A special thank you to the staff at the Concordia and St. Boniface Hospitals. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Gerda's memory to Cancer Care Manitoba. Cremation has taken place and memorial service will be held on Friday, October 19 at 11:00 a.m. at First Mennonite Church, 922 Notre Dame. FRIENDS FUNERAL SERVICE 2146 Main Street 339-5555
