Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGARRETH MCDONALD Garreth Ian McDonald was born March 5th, 1985 and passed away October 12, 2007. Left to mourn his passing are his parents, Bonnie McArton McDonald and Perry McDonald, sisters Laurel (Paul), and Kristen, his brother Grant, and his very special friend Stacy. He is also survived by his grandmother Marjorie and his many aunts, uncles and cousins. Garreth was a charming, handsome young man who continuously brought enthusiasm and fun into the lives of those privileged to be his friends. A proud graduate of St. Paul's High School, he was active on the wrestling team. Garreth went on to represent Manitoba at the Canada Summer Games in London Ontario. He played hockey for Westdale CC and competed in Speed Skating with the River Heights Cardinals Speed Skating Club. After graduation Garreth attended the University of Manitoba before joining Maple Leaf Construction, an employment opportunity he fully enjoyed. He loved the challenges of his position and the camaraderie of his coworkers. Garreth had an impressive number of interests as well as a wonderful sense of humour and a great personality. He loved his family and friends. Garreth took enormous pride in representing the Conservative Party as both a Provincial and then a Federal candidate. At the time of his first election bid Garreth had just turned 18 and was the youngest Provincial candidate ever to run for office. Garreth was looking forward to a life with Stacy and a future full of hopes and dreams. Instead we are left to remember the good times. We were privileged to know him. A Celebration of Garreth's life will take place Thursday, October 18 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Andrews Anglican Church, 2700 Portage Avenue. A devotional service will be held at St. Andrews on Wednesday, October 17 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Wiebe's Funeral Home 204-324-5404. Garreth has been a joy and treasure in our lives.

We both want to say how sorry we are for your loss. My husband was able to free Garreth from his vehicle and we stayed with him until he left by ambulance. He was never alone and we did all we could for him. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. - Posted by: Jacquie Hockin (Acquaintance) on: Oct 17, 2007
