OLGA INGEBORG FRY (nee OBERG) Peacefully on October 14, 2007, at Calvary Place, Mom passed away at 93 years of age with family at her side. Mom was predeceased by her husband Charlie of 52 years and her brother Alex Oberg. Mom is survived and deeply missed by her children, Brian (Doreen); Brenda Palmer (Barry); Karin Plesh (Al); Harold (Bernie); Kristina Durham (John); grandchildren, Michelle, Kristen, Carolyn, Jennifer (Luc), Jason (Stacy), Tommy (Erin), Jamie (Hayley), Kurtiss (Meagan), Trevor, Amanda; great-grandchildren, Sydney, Daria, Charissma, Meghan and Marrina. Also dear to her heart she leaves behind her loving and supportive brother Fred, and sister-in-law Jean and family of Minnedosa, Manitoba. Olga was born in Winnipeg and grew up in the Scandinavian community of Hilltop and Minnedosa, Manitoba. Mom's Christian faith was the cornerstone of her life. At her passing she was the longest serving member at Grant Memorial Baptist Church. After high school, Mom attended Business College in Winnipeg and worked for the Unemployment Insurance Commission and Winnipeg Clinic. She was fond of gardening and her fellowship with the Ladies Missionary Society. Her family was the centre of her life. Mom truly was a loving role model for her children and grandchildren and we will all miss her dearly. The family would like to thank all her friends and neighbours at Country Club and all the Medical Homecare staff who helped Mom for the past three years. Special thanks to the staff and volunteers at Calvary Place. You helped Mom feel at home. Funeral service will be held Thursday, October 18 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., with reception to follow. We gratefully decline flowers and ask that memoriam donations be made in Olga's name to Calvary Place Recreation Program, 1325 Erin Street, Winnipeg, MB R3E 3R6.
