Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMADELINE MARY HILHORST Lovingly surrounded by her family, Madeline passed away peacefully Sunday, October 14, 2007 at the Glenboro District Hospital at the age of 90. Madeline was born April 16, 1917 to August and Augusta DePape of the Bruxelles area. Madeline married Joe Hilhorst in 1939. They farmed in the Holland area until moving to Glenboro in 1953 where they operated a dairy farm. Maple Hurst Farm was always a hub of activity where family and friends were always welcome. After Joe passed away, Madeline moved into the Spirit Sands Housing Co-op in Glenboro. There she enjoyed many years of gardening, bird watching, and socializing with the close knit family that had developed. Madeline's priorities were her God, home and family. Her grandchildren will especially remember her homemade bread, chocolate slice and jars of cookies. She took an avid interest in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren's activities and was always proud to share a story with her neighbours. Madeline is survived by her children, Agnes (Glen) Witherspoon, their children Mark (Frieda), Todd (Darcy), Ian (Sandy); Walter (Sharon) Hilhorst, their children, Travis (Bev), Paul (Leanne), Cory (Erica); Eileen Wilton and her children, Shauna and Jeremy; Chuck Hilhorst and his children Michael (Kelly), Tyson, Ryan; Tony Hilhorst and his son Daniel; as well as 17 great-grandchildren who were all very special to her. Also surviving are her sister, Sister Maria, brother Joe (Raymonde); sisters-in-law, Mary, Gabie and Paula DePape and Laurette Hilhorst; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Madeline was predeceased by her husband Joe, her daughter-in-law Bonnie Hilhorst, her son-in-law Harold Wilton, her parents and several brothers and sisters. Prayers will be held Wednesday, October 17 at 7:00 p.m. at the Willmor Funeral Chapel in Glenboro, Manitoba. Funeral mass will be held Thursday, October 18 at 2:00 p.m. at St. John Berchmans Catholic Church, 129 Patrick Street, Holland, Manitoba with interment to follow at the Glenboro Cemetery.
