Date of Passing: Oct 14, 2007
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWALTER STANISLAUS SEWELL Walter Stanislaus Sewell of Mulvihill, MB, left us to rest forever on Sunday, October 14, 2007. 79 years, 11 months ago he commenced his life in a little house near his present home. For many years, Walter farmed, first with his dad, and later on his own farm. In 1965 he began to work with Manitoba Highways and retired in 1987. Since then he has been enjoying retirement. He intensely enjoyed dancing (his last waltz was enjoyed in his home on Saturday, October 13). Walter spent much time working in his yard, his garden, and his favourite garage (where he spent his last morning). Many hours were spent making useful articles for Lily and other members of his family. In the winter, his passion was working at puzzles - especially 3-D, and he also spent time at his computer. Walter and Lily enjoyed traveling and went on many tours. During his lifetime he enjoyed good health, except in 2007 when he spent several days in the hospital. Walter enjoyed his family and family gatherings immensely, at which many cards games would be played. Walter always looked forward to family, relatives and friends coming to visit. He was a very caring person who enjoyed talking with every person he met. Walter was a member of the Eriksdale Legion for many years, served as Altar Boy at the Eriksdale Catholic Church, and volunteered in different ways for the Manitoba Red Cross. He will be mourned and sadly missed by Lily, his beloved wife and best friend of 24 years; his family Sharon (Glen), Dana (Sally), Kim (Paul) Goodman, Dominic (Fiona), Allan, Shirley (Brent), Pat (Martin), Tim (Naomi); grandchildren Carli (Arron), Ian, Mark (Kendra), John Campbell, Deanna, Jason (Izabella), Caitlin and Devin, Aaron, Michelle, Rachel, Tara, Ashley and Richard; great-grandchildren Ashley, Darren, Brady and Ashley; his brother Doug (Joyce); also numerous other relatives, friends and acquaintances. He was predeceased by his father Dave, mother Mary, infant daughter Theressa Lynne, and his first wife Jean. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2007, in the Eriksdale Recreation Centre at 2:00 p.m. with Melanie Kauppila officiating. Following a luncheon in the hall, interment in the Mulvihill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. arrangements by: ARNASON FUNERAL HOMES LTD.
