Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHANS IRVIN OZOL Peacefully on Sunday, October 14, 2007 at the Red River Place in Selkirk, Hans Ozol, aged 90 years, of Oakbank and formerly of Libau passed away Hans Irvin Ozol was born on the Libau farm of his parents on April 17, 1917. He is survived by his wife Lorna; sons, Donald (Beverly) and James (Wanda); grandchildren Krystal (Matt), David and Aaron; and her sister Alice. He was predeceased by his father Jacob; mother Dora, sister infant A. Dorothea, and sister Milda. Hans went to School at the old Libau School, a quarter mile from the home. In 1955 he married Lorna Myketuik and in 1960, built a new house on the farm site. In 1995, they sold the farm, retired and moved to Oakbank, where he spent his remaining years. He worked for MRM, hobby farmed, enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards. In 2005, Hans and Lorna celebrated their 50th anniversary. He was one of the last remaining Latvians from the Libau area. Funeral service will be held on Friday, October 19 at 11:00 a.m. in the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Selkirk with viewing at the church for one hour prior to service.
