RENE (SONNY) SANDERSON It is with deep sadness the family announce the passing of Rene (Sonny) Sanderson on October 14, 2007. Sonny leaves to cherish his memory his wife; Myrtle, beloved sister; Valerie, niece; Arielle Ballantyne. Sonny will be greatly missed by Comet, his pet Chihauhua, his children; Carl, Carol (Wayne), Vincent (Sherry), Rene, Karen (Jonny), Jerry and Wendy, his grandchildren; Arielle, Sabrina, Cassandra, Nicolas, Noah, Sebastian, Shikana, Zachary, Hillary, Chasity, Trinity, Brandi, Paris and Alexis, Former wife; Linda (Alfred) Brock, mother-in-law; Elizabeth Bruce, sisters-in-law; Sarah (John) Donovan, Libby, Lucy, Pearl and Shirley, brothers-in-law; Wallace, Percy, Gary Wilson, and extended family. Sonny was predeceased by his parents; Mary (Steve) Sanderson, sister; Pat Willers, infant sister; Marie, father-in-law; Stanley Cameron, and infant grandchildren; Jared and Cheyenne. Sonny was a happy, gentle man with a great sense of humor. He was a kind and loving man to all who knew him, and he was devoted to his family. Sonny had worked as a youth guidance counselor. In the later years started driving for Spring Taxi, known as #9. Dad enjoyed his evenings playing bingo or at the casino. He will be sadly missed. Thanks to the Grace and HSC Emergency staff for all the care and compassion given to our dad during his brief illness. Special thanks to Kevin (home care nurse) and Sarah Donovan for all they have done. In honoring Sonny's wishes, a memorial service will be held on Friday, October 19, 2007 at Aboriginal Funeral Chapel (724 Selkirk Ave.) from 1:00 2:00 p.m., with Father Joe Cabral officiating.
