NORMAN ROGERS It is with sadness that the family of Norman Rogers announces his passing on October 16, 2007 in Brooks, Alberta after a courageous battle with Lymphoma at his home surrounded by family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Joan; his three children, Kimberley Schmidt (Murray), Christine Nolan (Pat) and Paul Rogers; eight grandchildren, his mother, Charlotte; his brother Mel (Isabelle) and numerous close friends. Born on February 27, 1942 in Winnipeg, he joined the Royal Bank of Canada 1960 and a successful career took him from Winnipeg to Flin Flon, MB, Edmonton and Brooks, where he retired in 1998 after 35 years in the banking industry. His passion for sports included golf, baseball and curling. Norm enjoyed a fine wine and a good scotch and was generous in sharing these with his many friends. Norm faced his illness with humour, bravery and determination and he inspired these qualities in others. He will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him. A Celebration of Norm's life will take place on Saturday, October 20 at 11:00 a.m. from Trinity Lutheran Church, 811 Cassils Road West, Brooks. In memory of Norman, if friends desire, memorial tributes may be made to either Brooks and District Health Foundation, Bag 300, Brooks, Alberta T1R 1B3 or Tom Baker Cancer Centre, 1331-29th Street NW, Calgary, Alberta T2N 4N2.
