Left to cherish her memory are her daughters; Beverley (John) Venn and Diane Zimmerman, grandchildren; Roger (Darlene) Venn, Ryan Venn, Barry (Krista) Venn and Danielle Dyck, great-grandchildren Kaylynne and Travis. She is survived by her sisters-in-law Irene Taylor, Pat Taylor, Louise Kletke, Norma Schuh, Fern Zimmerman and many nieces and nephews. Edie was born in Winnipeg on September 8, 1919. She grew up in Elmwood and worked along with her father and brother at Ogilvie's. She loved skating, and it was there she met and later married her sweetheart Ron in 1942. They were long time members of Gordon King Memorial United Church, where mom enjoyed sharing her delicious dainties at coffee hour. We all enjoyed her great cooking, especially roast beef and Yorkshire pudding on Sundays. She took great care in all she did for her family and we will always remember with admiration her beautiful knitting, spotlessly clean home, and perfectly ironed shirts. Most importantly she loved her family and will cherish the many memories of the times we spent together. With sincere appreciation we wish to thank the staff at Rosewood Village and Bethania for the comfort, compassion and dignity given to our Mother during her stay. A Memorial service and reception will be held on Monday, October 22, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street. If so desired, donations can be made to The Alzheimer's Society, 10 - 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2.
