(WILLEMINA) FRANCISCA SELLES (nee VAN DE VIJSEL) In loving memory of our mother September 28, 1949- October 12, 2007 Born to Dutch parents in Palembang, Indonesia, Cisca and her family immigrated to Canada in 1957. Growing up she had a love for art and dance and once dreamed of being a ballerina. After graduating from The St. Boniface School of Nursing, Cisca enjoyed 19 years, between Winnipeg, MB and Abbotsford, BC, dedicated to the care of others. Never a person to let obstacles get in her way, Cisca had a fighting spirit. During her early retirement she spent time travelling, gardening, and enjoying life. She loved being a grandmother and Oma. Cisca will always be remembered for her positive outlook, fondness of bingo, and love for her family. Her life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by her understood that the quality of life far exceeds quantity of time in which you live it. Remaining to forever cherish her memory is Cisca's loving children Natalie Shantz and Brian Selles, who mourn with their families: Mark and Finton; Maxine, Kira, Steven, Theresa and Dylan. Cisca is loved and missed by her mother Elisabeth (Bettina) van de Vijsel; brother Art van de Vijsel, with his family Christine, Lyndsay, Michael, Jody and Kyler; our extended family Joyce and Bert Brosseau with their children and grandchildren; and many devoted friends; All of whom she found much comfort, support and wonderful memories. Cisca joins her father Arie van de Vijsel, may they rest in peace together. A celebration of our mother's life will take place in Mission, BC on October 27. Please use the following address for more information. Stories may be shared with her family by e-mailing remembering_cisca@yahoo.ca. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Canadian Cancer Society or The Christine Morrison Hospice in Mission, BC.
