Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTHOMAS HALBERT On Friday, October 19, 2007, with family by his side, Thomas Wright Halbert lost his short battle with cancer. He was born, February 4, 1925, to Andrew and Elsie Halbert. He is survived by his wife Ludvena Lil of 58 years; his children, Faith (Ed) Kopisky, Bruce (Judy) Halbert and Heather-Sue Duncan of Calgary, Alberta; grandchildren, Carrie (Steve) Foden, Cory (Jen) Halbert, Aaron Halbert, Angela (Mark) Hiebert of Kenora and great-grandchildren, Andrew, Austin, Stephanie, Amber and Julie; his sister, Elsie (Pete) Larson; sister-in-law, Vera; his special niece, Joan and many other nieces and nephews. Tom was predeceased by his parents, Andrew and Elsie Halbert; sisters, Sarah Halbert and Jean Taphorn; brothers, Sydney (Olive) Halbert, William (Lil) Halbert and Stephen Halbert and son-in-law, Ken Duncan. Tom retired from Stony Mountain Institution in 1982 which allowed him and Lil to travel and visit with family and friends and to make the most of his golden years. A special thank you from the family to the staff at the Grace Hospice for their compassionate care during his brief stay. A memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 1, 2007 at Sparling United Church, 1609 Elgin Avenue West. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sparling United Church, 1609 Elgin Avenue West, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3E 1C4. Together at last with those he loved!
