LUCIEN LAPOINTE (LUCKY) July 10, 1918 October 18, 2007 Lucien, beloved husband of Reta passed away peacefully with his family at his side at St. Norbert Personal Care Home. Lucien is survived by his wife, Reta of 62 years and his three daughters; Marlene and Russ (Kristi and Thom, Philip and Paige of West Plains, Missouri, and Kevin and daughter Alisha), Shirley and Garry (Curt and Cristy, Scott and Jen and Adrienne) and Diane (Ben, Vanessa and Alex). Lucien is one of 15 children and is survived by Rolande, Tony, and Tess. Lucky had many passions; master carpentry on many commercial and residential projects such as the Richardson Building and St. James bridge, fine furniture and wood working. He loved to build. Another great love was his cottage and retirement home that Mom and Dad built at Sunset Beach on Lake Winnipeg. He loved to travel. Mom and Dad went to Texas and Florida many times, but Hawaii was his passion. He felt it was paradise. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren put the sparkle in his eye. A very special thanks to all the staff, particularly Yvonne and Sandi, of St. Norbert Personal Care Home. A celebration of Lucky's life will take place on Tuesday, October 23 at 10:00 a.m. in Thomson In the Park Funeral Home 1291 McGillivray Blvd. If these walls could talk They would speak of a man Who worked with a great heart to accomplish his plan. They would speak of a man who truly enjoyed building for family and friends. Oh, if these walls could talk, It would be just a start of a carpenters love, a great man with a great heart. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Lucky's name to the Heart and Stoke Foundation of Manitoba Suite 200 - 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, R3L 0K6.
