Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET BODNAR (nee STROPKO) On Saturday, October 20, 2007, Margaret passed away peacefully at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 84 years. Remaining to forever cherish Margaret's memory are her children, Mary (Joseph); Elizabeth, Frank Jr.; grandchildren, Erika (Paul), Susan (Dwayne), Lisa (Chris), Kim (Doug); and great-grandchildren, Nicole, Katie, Aaron, Nathan, Matthew and Sidney; her brother, Joseph Stropko; nephew Mark (Tamara and family); as well as family in Hungary. Born on March 26, 1923 in Sarospatak, Hungary, Margaret worked at St. Joseph's Academy. She was an active member of St. Anthony of Padua Hungarian Church. She enjoyed hosting parties in their home and welcoming friends and family. Margaret enjoyed traveling to Mexico, Hawaii and back home to Hungary. She enjoyed baking, knitting, Hungarian needlepoint and gardening. Margaret loved to see her flowers in full bloom. She especially loved to see her grandchildren grow and getting to spend time with her six great-grandchildren. Grandma loved to hear about Sidney's ballet class and taking the girls out for lunch. The kids will definitely miss Grandma's gifts of chocolates and cookies. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday October 24 at 10:30 a.m. in the St. Anthony of Padua Hungarian Roman Catholic Church, 365 Burnell Street, with Rev. Fr. Stan Gacek presiding. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Roman Catholic Cemetery, 520 Osborne Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Margaret's memory to the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba, 10 - 120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2 or to the Canadian Cancer Society Manitoba Division, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7.
