Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLINDA STOLTZ (nee DUCHARME) Linda was born Thursday, April 28, 1927, to Marie and George Ducharme, at Cormorant, Manitoba. Mom spent the first eight years of her life in Cormorant, Manitoba, attending school for a short time. Her father George passed away in late winter of 1935. Mom, aged nine, along with her sister Helen, went to the Indian Residential School at Sturgeon Landing, Saskatchewan, where she learned to cook, crochet, knit, etc. She remained at school until spring of 1942. Mom worked as a nurses aid at St. Anthony's Hospital, The Pas, doing many jobs. In summer of 1944 she went to work for Mr. and Mrs. George Bartlette Sr. at Herb Lake, Manitoba, where she met the love of her life, our dad, Carl Edwin Stoltz. They were united in marriage, April 5, 1945, at The Pas, and set up their first home on the trapline on Grassy River. They later moved to Herb Town where they remained until the spring of 1960. While in Herb Lake Herb Town mom washed laundry for the men who worked in the Faro Mine. They moved to Wekusko where Mom enjoyed being a homemaker and in 1964 moved to Snow Lake where she worked as a cleaning woman for the Legion and in private homes. Linda was a marriage commissioner for a 24-hour period and married Gerald and Kelly Weir, November 9, 2002. Mom was a member of the Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church, Snow Lake and also a member of the Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Mom enjoyed many things and enjoyed all things. She loved music, playing guitar, singing, dancing, picking berries, baking, sewing, crocheting, knitting, raising her children, helping with her grandchildren. She also babysat little Jason and Margaret Ball. Mom's strong point has always been her faith in God, always thankful and with a smile on her face. She never complained even though she was in a very serious car accident, August 23, 1960, shortly after moving to Wekusko, which left her very arthritic. Mom passed away peacefully, Sunday, October 14, 2007, at the Snow Lake Health Centre, Snow Lake, Manitoba, aged 80 years. Mom leaves to mourn her passing: her companion, Jacques Cadorette; sons, Norman and Eddie Stoltz, both of The Pas; daughters, Sandra (Ron) Krochak, Benito, Manitoba, Lianne (David) Sushelnitski, Arran, Saskatchewan, Laurel (Dennis Napady), Arran, Saskatchewan, Teresa (Bill) Murdoch, The Pas; brother, Brent (Mary) Constant, Cormorant; sister, Eileen Lavallee, Gillam; sister-in-law, Regina Stoltz, Edmonton, Alberta; 23 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
