HARVEY WILLIAM CAMERON Harvey William Cameron, born August 22, 1922, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2007, leaving behind with cherished memories, his best friend and wife of 60 years, Evelyn (nee Deamel) with five children, Ron (Laury), Kathy (Ron Phelps), Marilyn (Larry Vermeersch), Harvelyn (Ron Mattice), Tim (Jean). Pappy will also be sadly missed by 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, all who played the fiddle on their pappy's knee. He will also be remembered by his sister Edith Bartlett; brother George (Margaret); in-laws and many nieces and nephews who considered him their favourite uncle. He is now reunited with his parents Theo and Daisy; sisters, Geraldine (Dean) Whyte, Fern Stadfeld, Margaret Langton; granddaughter Erin Boychuk; and numerous in-laws and cousins. Harvey was born at Poplar Lake near Hodgson, Manitoba, and attended schools at Fisherton and Hodgsonville before joining the Cameron Highlanders of Ottawa during the Second World War. He proudly worked 36 years at the C.P.R. until his retirement in 1982 during which he and Evelyn spent five years wintering in Yuma, AZ, and Vernon, BC and many trips including Hawaii, Mexico, BC, Alaska and Disneyland. He enjoyed many interests including fiddling, hunting, playing cards and tinkering or inventing in his shed. Harvey was always quick with jokes and a great example of good morals and values to his family. He will also be missed by many friends and neighbours at Appleton Estates, especially Lou, Mary Jean, Ivan and Margaret, who are included in a special thank you extended to Concordia Hospital staff for their care and compassion given to Harvey and family. A celebration of Harvey's life will unfold at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., Friday, October 26, 2007, at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of choice. Arrangements entrusted to: Chapel Lawn Funeral Home 885-9715
