Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryZOFIA SALNIKOWSKI Peacefully on Monday, October 22, 2007, Zofia passed away at the Maples Personal Care Home. Remaining to forever cherish her memory are her children Ben (Sophie), Rose (John), Peter (Kathy) and Eva. Babica will also be lovingly remembered by her seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Zofia is also survived by her two brothers Joseph and Frank Samus; sister Marianna Galezowski and numerous nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her husband Aleksander. Zofia was born on October 8, 1913 in Marianow, Poland. She survived difficult years in Poland and slave labour in wartime Germany. Shortly after arriving in Winnipeg from Germany in 1955, she was instrumental in bringing two of her brothers and sister to Canada. As a result of her efforts there is a large extended family in Canada. The family would like to thank the residents of the Polish Manor, Dr. George Korol and staff at Seven Oaks Hospital3U5. Special thank you to Helen for all the exceptional care and compassion. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 27 at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Avenue. Interment will be in Holy Ghost Cemetery.
