PETER RIOU Peter passed away peacefully at the Concordia Hospital on Sunday, October 21, 2007 at the age of 91 years. He was predeceased by his first wife Mary, a British war bride, in 1949, and also by his second wife, Margaret, in 2000, his parents, Germaine and Guillaume Riou, brothers, Yvés, Jean, and Marcel, and brother-in-law Jack Forsyth of Regina, SK. Peter is survived by his sister, Anne Marie Forsyth of Regina, SK, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He served his country with the 1st Division Saskatoon Light Infantry for six years, and was severely wounded in the battle of Ortona, Italy. Peter was employed with Shell Oil until his retirement. He and Margaret enjoyed 40 years of summers at their Barrier Bay Cottage. In keeping with Peter's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 27 at 11:00 a.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street. A private family interment will be held at a later date in Duck Lake, SK. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in memory of Peter may be made to Camp Easter Seal, 2310 Louise Ave., Saskatoon, SK, S7J 2C7.
