PHYLLIS MURIEL DOREEN SKOGLUND Phyllis Muriel Doreen Skoglund passed away peacefully on October 23, 2007 at the Brandon Assiniboine Centre with her sister, Fran, at her side. She was predeceased by her parents, Alfred and Edith Skoglund, brother Gordon Skoglund, brother-in-law John Wolski and nephew Craig Skoglund. Left to cherish her memories are her sister Fran, sister-in-law Selma, nieces Susan (Gerald) and Lynnette (Cory) and nephews Elliot and Darryl. Also great-nephews and nieces, Christopher, Britany, Jarett, Jessica and Joshua, as well as many other relatives and friends. Phyllis was born in the Rural Municipality of Clanwilliam, the second child of Alfred and Edith Skoglund. Her early years were spent on the farm and attending Lund School. She completed her high school education in Erickson, Manitoba. She then took her teachers training in Winnipeg. Upon completion, she taught education in several schools in Manitoba, with Cypress River being the last school prior to retiring. Following her retirement from teaching, Phyllis was Superintendent of the Tiger Hills School Division for one year. Since that time, Phyllis has become actively involved in several different organizations in Brandon. Phyllis enjoyed curling, crafts, reading and especially spending quality time with family and friends. A Memorial Service was held at Trinity United Church, Brandon, on Friday, October 26, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Barb Jardine officiating. Interment was at the Hilltop Baptist Church Cemetery.
