JEAN KUSYK Peacefully on October 18, 2007, Jean was called home to the Lord. Mom was born on August 28, 1922 to Michael and Mary Pidstawka in Silver, Manitoba. All through her life she thoroughly enjoyed her time visiting and reading about the family homestead. After she completed her teacher certificate, she taught in Berens River. Jean and Harry, the love of her life, were married from 1947 until Harry's sudden death in 1978. After devoting her time raising her sons, she went back to work as a paraprofessional until her retirement at the age of 70. Mom's life was centered around her family. She derived great joy from preparing traditional meals, experimenting with new recipes, and especially making perogies with her grandchildren. She is lovingly remembered by her sons, Don (Maureen), Michael (Cathie) and her grandchildren, Shona, Jerrod, Jeremy, Meaghan, and Justin as well as brothers, Charlie, Maurice, (predeceased by Frank); sisters, Mary, Joyce and their families.
