Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRUDY M. SAWATZKY Rudy Sawatzky, aged 82, went home to be with his Lord on October 22, 2007 at Bethesda Place, Steinbach, MB. Rudy Max Sawatzky was born March 28, 1925 in Adelsdorf, Niedershelesien Germany to Heinrich J. and Matylda E. Sawatzky. Rudy immigrated to Canada in July 1927 at the age of two and resided with his family in the Dalmeny, Saskatchewan area. Rudy lived at home till he married at 39, to the love of his life, Betty Klassen on October 10, 1964. They lived in Saskatchewan for the early years of their marriage but came back to Steinbach, MB to set up their final home. Rudy is predeceased by his wife Betty (nee Klassen), his parents Heinrich J. and Matylda E. Sawatzky, his older brother, C. Oskar E. Sawatzky and his younger sister Elsie Rans (nee Sawatzky). He will be lovingly remembered by his brother Paul (Alice) Sawatzky and family Cheryl Klein, Brian (Karen) Sawatzky, Scott (Krysta) Sawatzky, sister-in-law Helen Sawatzky and family Donna (Dennis) Nazarenko, Arden (Charlene) Sawatzky, Beverly (Al Walker) Phillips, Kevin (Cyndee) Sawatzky, nieces Carey Chomyn and Wenda (Alvin) Lofgren and sister-in-law Shelley (Guy) Barkman and family Jack A. Vogt including many extended family and friends. Thank you to all the staff at Cedarwood, Bethesda Hospital and Bethesda Place for their combined care for Rudy over the past two and one half years. Thank you also to all the people who have supported us with love, prayers' and expressions of sympathy. Funeral services were held on Friday, October 26, 2007 at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, in Steinbach, MB. Arrangements by Birchwood Funeral Chapel.
