PHYLLIS J. BELL Beloved mom, nana and great-nana, Phyllis Bell passed away peacefully at home on October 24, 2007 at the age of 88. She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Jo-Ann and Bruce Duncan, Leta and Darrell Noakes; grandchildren, Justin Thomas, Lacey, Adriana and Michael Nardiello; and great-grandchildren, Doryan, Devlin, Brennan and Theron (Thomas). She also leaves behind her brother Mike Bulych (Netty), Anne Bulych, Rick Thomas and family, Mike Nardiello and family, John and Sandy Gawron and family, Valerie and Heidi Van Ellenberg and Sam and Joey (Leif) Anderson as well as many beloved family and friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Joseph A. (Dave), sisters, Katherine and John Baran, Mary and John Kulik, brother John Bulych, parents, John and Parania (Sczebel) Bulych, Diane Snobl, Jeff Gawron and baby Emma-Lynn (Thomas). Phyllis was born on February 10, 1919 in Kobylnica, Western Ukraine and came to Canada with her family at nine years of age. Their family, farmed near Foam Lake, Saskatchewan until Mom came to the city where she met and married dad. Mom worked hard all her life and she told us that is why she had lived so long. For many years she worked as a cook and her food was loved by all. Her home was always open to stray cats and kids and she inherited many new family members who came by to eat, sleep or just sit and chat with her and dad. She was generous to a fault and often went without in order for others to have what they needed. When dad died, she moved in with her daughter Leta and was an integral part of the lives of her grandchildren. Mom was one of a kind, pruning trees and playing soccer with her grandkids well into her late seventies. She also enjoyed gardening and had more artistic talent than all of us put together. Mom loved her homestead at Winnipeg Beach, where she spent many happy days with her family. Mom was strong, the glue that held our family together, always there with a kind or encouraging word when things got tough. Mom left us a legacy of love and she will be sorely missed by all. A service in celebration of mom's life will be held on Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church at the corner of Inkster Boulevard and Sinclair Street. Our thanks to the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital who took such loving care of mom during her short stay there. Remembrances in mom's name may be made to the Seven Oaks Hospital Emergency Expansion Fund. We'll love you forever, We'll love you for always As long as we're living, our Nana you'll be See you in heaven, Say hello to Papa.
