BILLIE M. DAVILL 1928 2007 Billie passed away on Friday, October 26, 2007 at the Riverview Hospital after a long battle with cancer. Dennis, her husband of 57 years, and her son Craig were at her bedside at the end. She is survived by her sister Noreen; daughter-in-law Susan, and grandchildren, Sarah and Rayden who deeply mourn her passing. Billie was born on August 13, 1928 in Houghton le Spring, County Durham, England. She enlisted in the Women's Auxiliary Air Force in 1946 and served for three years at the Royal Aircraft Establishment, Boscombe Down, Wiltshire. Dennis and Billie married in 1950 and immigrated to Canada in 1956 where she worked for the Grain Exchange, various legal offices, and finally the City of Winnipeg Parks and Recreation Services before retiring in 1991. Billie had an adventurous spirit and traveled the globe visiting Europe, Africa, Jamaica, Costa Rica, Mexico, and all across the United States. She had a great love of painting, music, and was particularly accomplished at knitting and crocheting. A graveside service will be held in St. James Anglican Cemetery, 525 Tylehurst at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 2, 2007. The family would like to thank the staff at both the Riverview Hospital and St. Boniface Cancer Care Clinic for their outstanding compassion and care.
