JAMES ISAACS Peacefully, on October 20, 2007 at the Teulon Memorial Hospital, James Isaacs of Teulon Manitoba, husband of Dorothy Isaacs, passed away at the age of 82 years. Jim will forever be lovingly remembered by his wife Dorothy and daughter Joan; grandchildren, Clayton (Lindsey), Paige of Crossfield, AB; James (Nancy), Jonathan, Tom of St. Paul, AB; Shannon (Matthew), Dylon, Alicia, Miranda of Airdrie, AB; brother Tom (Gloria) of Kamloops, BC and sister-in-law Evelyn of Portage la Prairie, MB; nieces, nephews and all who knew him. Jim is predeceased by his parents, Vera and John Isaacs; brothers, Gordon, Reg; sister Audrey and sister-in-law Emily. Jim was born March 3, 1925 in Waskada, Manitoba where he started school and later moved to a farm near Portage where he attended the East Prospect Rural School. In 1943 Jim enlisted in the Artillery at Fort Osborne Barracks. He trained in armored cars at Petawawa and with the Lake Superiors went to England. They landed in Holland and pursued the war into Germany. He received his discharge in 1946 and returned to the farm playing hockey with the Portage Intermediates. In 1947 Jim began his Hydro career trimming trees in Portage. He continued playing hockey and advancing his lineman career in the Portage District until 1950. Jim married Dorothy Innocent in 1950. In 1951 Jim worked in Whitemouth as second man. In 1953 he became second man in Russell and in 1955 was assigned to Inwood as the First District Supervisor. After Inwood he moved to Teulon as supervisor and upon retirement in 1983 worked out of Stonewall as Customer Service Man. Jim may also be remembered for his love of hockey, curling, playing cribbage, raising cattle, sense of humor and gentle manner. In keeping with Jim's wishes his ashes will be interred at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Goodwin Lodge, Teulon or a charity of choice.
