THOMAS ALBERT WILLIAM PEATE April 1, 1923 - October 26, 2007 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, Tom, late Friday night. Although unprepared and not ready to give him up yet, he has now been reunited in Heaven with his loving wife Ruth who left this earth 10 years ago and whom he missed incredibly. They will rest in peace together. A good, kind, and loving family man, he will be remembered and missed by daughters and their families, Linda, Judy and Robert, and Kelly and Brett, grandchildren, Daniel, Jeffery, Aileen, Anna, Melanie; sisters, Mary (Arthur), and Gloria; and many friends made over the years. Tom worked for the CNR on Main Street his entire career, retiring in 1985 from the Regional Equipment Department after 38 years. Regular get-togethers with family and friends was very important to Dad, as were lunches out at his favorite restaurant, Maxime's. His wit, humour, and great stories will be missed by all. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 2, 2007 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint). Interment to take place in Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the reception centre. If friends so desire, donations in dad's memory may be made to a charity of your choice. Family and friends are invited to sign the Book of Condolences at www.glenlawn.ca Arrangements entrusted to: GLEN LAWN FUNERAL HOME 455 LAGIMODIERE BLVD. 982-7550

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Dear Linda, Judy, Kelly and family, Our hearts go out to you with the loss of your father, Uncle Tom. He was a kind, honorable and gentle man and a good friend to those who had an opportunity to get to know him. Our families have proven that. In your journey of life, occasionally reflect back at some of the things that you used to do with your Mom and Dad - pass those little stories on to your children so that a little piece of them will stay with you and your families always. Love, Carol and Don/ Ottawa - Posted by: Carol & Don Day (Family) on: Nov 01, 2007
