NANCY CAROL MINARZ With profound sadness, the family announces the untimely passing of Nancy Minarz, at the age of 61, after a long battle with multiple sclerosis, on October 27, 2007 at St. Boniface Hospital. Nancy was predeceased by her father Leo Lebel. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband Jerry of 41 years; sons Darren, Kevin (Kassy); grandsons Tyler and Garett; mother Maureen Lebel; sisters Linda Atkinson, Joanne Lowery (Glenn) and Mavis Hess (Barry); brothers Paul Lebel (Pamela Kostur) and Michael Lebel (Laurie); sister-in-law Carol Campbell ( Bob) and many nieces and nephews. Nancy was born in 1946, the first of the Lebel family's six children. Her name was inspired by the hit Sinatra song of the day, Nancy (With the Laughing Face) , and it proved to be a very good choice. Nancy's sense of humour was infectious. Anyone who knew her well can recall many times when tears of laughter were streaming down their face, as Nancy's contagious laugh and enthusiasm turned a simple joke into hours of hilarity. Her laughter lives on in our memories. Nancy was a 1960s career woman when she fell in love with Jerry Minarz, the love of her life. Their marriage was blessed with sons Kevin and Darren, and Nancy spent many years as a devoted wife and mother. After the children were grown, Nancy resumed her business career. Working her way up, she achieved great success as a manager at Manitoba Blue Cross, where she was respected for her organizing abilities and treasured for her compassion and sense of humour. The family would like to express our sincere thank you to the Palliative Care staff at St. Boniface Hospital for their professional care and kindness. Funeral service will be held at Klassen Funeral Home, on Thursday, November 1, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow in Green Acres Cemetery.
