THOMAS ROWE SR. Peacefully on October 27, 2007, in his 83rd year, Tom Rowe passed into the arms of His Lord and Savior with his family by his side. Tom is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Edith, son Tom Jr. (Carol), daughter Susan (Alan), seven grandchildren, Ashley, Mike, Alison, Kevin, Jonathan, Derek and Graeme and great-grandchildren, Brandon and Meagan. Tom was born October 5, 1924 in St. Ives, Cornwall England. Tom served his country in the Royal Navy. He trained in college to be a bookeeper and worked for Co-op before emigrating to Canada in 1958. After arriving in Canada with his young family, they settled in Winnipeg were he worked as a bookeeper for Chennell's Construction before taking over the business himself in 1967. He remained in the construction business until his retirement. Aside from his family, Tom loved nothing more than puttering in his garden. He was very active right up until his passing with curling, bowling and playing bridge. He will also always be remembered for his quick wit and always had a joke or a story to tell. Tom was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, November 1, 2:00 p.m. at New Hope Community Church, 214 Henderson Hwy. In lieu of flowers, should you choose, donations may be made to The Childrens Make a Wish Foundation or to a charity of choice.
