Ola was predeceased by her beloved husband Asmundur (Aussie) in 1984; her sister Helen Bergman, and her parents, Bill and Lalla Cairns. She will be sadly missed by her daughter Tanis (Don); her son Billy (Laureen); her grandchildren, Tanya, Kailee, Audun and Desarae; her very special aunts, Joey and Mabel; her brother-in-law Wally Bergman, sister-in-law Johanna Johannesson; her special friends, Joy and Agnes, as well as numerous family and friends. Ola was born in Riverton and lived in the village her entire life. She attended the Riverton schools and worked at Coghill's Food Market. While working at Hecla Store for her Uncle Marino she met the love of her life Aussie Grimolfson, they were married on August 2, 1958. Ola and Aussie made their home in Riverton and were blessed with two children and four grandchildren. As a couple they were avid curlers, enjoying many bonspiels and community events. They loved to entertain family and friends at home and at their Hnausa cottage. After 1984 Ola organized an annual Grimolfson golf tournament, holding the huge family together for years. Ola worked for more than 25 years at the Riverton Coop Store and in 1973 she took over the Cairns Family Insurance Business renaming it Grimolfson Insurance. Later although busy with her insurance company she worked for her daughter at D T's Shop Easy Foods, until she retired. A wonderful homemaker, Ola loved cooking and baking for her family and anyone who came to the door. Amma loved to do overnights and weekends with all the grandkids, she especially loved having Tanya her little Gryla , live with her all these years. She loved to read, knit, crochet, play cards and watch her favourite soaps and movies. She enjoyed bingo night with Joy and Agnes, and loved to have company at her table most of the day and night. Travelling with her Aunts was one of Ola's favourite memories especially Hawaii, California, Vegas and British Columbia. The family would like to thank Dr. S.V. Patel and the staff at Gimli Community Health Centre for making our Mom and Amma as comfortable as possible.
