Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOROTHY WARD CARLYLE (nee AMES) Peacefully Dorothy passed away on Sunday evening October 28, 2007 at the Golden West Centennial Lodge in Winnipeg, Manitoba, at the age of 86. Dorothy (nee Ames) was predeceased by her loving husband George in 2001, her brother Victor Ames, Ajax, ON. Mom leaves to mourn her passing her children, Richard (Christine), David (Terry) Gwen Hink (Cameron) and Pam Pullen (Rick). Her grandchildren, Kim (Jeff), Stephen (Allana), Tim, Krista, Courtney (Mike and great-grandson Jordon), Nadine, Naomi, Stephanie (Jon), Andrew and Sean. Her brother Willard Ames (Eloise) and sisters, Bette Binning (Gene) and Marg Doff (Norm) Dorothy was born March 28, 1921 in Brandon, MB eldest daughter of Henry Ames, Minnesota, USA and Beatrice Harrop, Malvern, Worcester, England. Dorothy met her husband of 54 years prior to Dad going overseas. Upon his return, they were married March 28, 1946 in Edmonton, AB. Dorothy worked as a cashier for the T. Eaton Co. After taking a number of years off to raise her family, and transferring to Winnipeg in 1965 Dorothy pursued a career in Real Estate until her retirement Mom was full of life and had a heart of gold. She was always there for her family and friends. She had a great sense of humour, creating laughter in any situation. The family wish to thank all the staff of Golden West for their care of our mother in her declining years. A memorial service will be held at Heritage Park Temple, 825 School Road, Winnipeg, MB November 3 at 10:00 a.m. with interment at Brookside Cemetery on November 5 at 10:00 a.m. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba or the Salvation Army.
