MARCEL GAGNON June 12, 1921 - October 31, 2007 Peacefully, on October 31, 2007, Marcel Francis Joseph Gagnon passed away at the age of 86 years after a courageous battle with cancer. Marcel will be sadly missed by Irene Gagnon and their children, Lorraine Joyal, Maurice (Pam) of Calgary; George; Lucille (Roger) Joyal; Denis (Laurie); Diane (Rob); Louis (Lorna); Claude (Juliet); 24 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He is survived by his sister Florette Marcoux, and predeceased by son, Paul; parents Rosanna (Hébert) and Joseph; brothers, Donat and Lucien and sister, Annette Trudeau. Marcel was born on June 12, 1921 in Ste. Marthe, Saskatchewan and his family later moved to Richer, Manitoba. Marcel served in the Canadian Army in the Second World War and was a member of the Norwood Legion. Marcel was known to all for having a hard work ethic while working in the trucking industry. After retirement, he enjoyed going for coffee, bowling, playing cards and pool. Marcel had a wonderful outlook on life, loved to laugh, joke, dance, listen to music, and enjoyed his family. Farewell Dad It's going to take some time, we're sure To accept you're gone for good But forget you? Don't you worry, Dad None of us ever would Dad, we love you. A memorial service will be held at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (one block south of the Royal Canadian Mint), on Monday, November 5 at 2:00 p.m. with a reception to follow. The family would like to thank the staff at Foyer Valade Personal Care Home for their care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Marcel's memory to Cancer Care Manitoba, 100 Olivia Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3E 0V9. I've been livestreaming Masses since the COVID-19 pandemic struck and will continue to do so to be closer to God.
