ERNA ALMA RECKSIEDLER Erna Recksiedler (nee Wonnick) passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at the Morris General Hospital. Erna was born on June 20, 1920 at Rosenfeld, Manitoba. She married August Recksiedler on October 15, 1942. They lived at Sewell, where they farmed until 1980. In 1996 they moved to Parkside Villa in Morris, where she resided until her death. She was predeceased by her husband August Recksiedler on January 10, 2000, and by her parents William and Rosalie Wonnick; also by four brothers, Ferdinand, Henry, Ludwig, Ervin, and three sisters, Elsie, Alvina, and Esther. She is survived by her daughter Ellayn, and son Allen (Anne); three grandsons, Kelly (Nicole), Jeff (Susan), Curt (Sondra); two great granddaughters, Alexis and Jenna; three great-grandsons, Tim, Michael, and Mason; one sister Hilda (Alf) Spicer; two sisters-in-law, Mary Wonnick and Helen Wiebe; also by numerous nieces and nephews. Erna was baptized, confirmed and married in the St. John Lutheran Church, Rosenfeld. She was active in church for many years as a Sunday School Superintendent, also with the Lutheran Church Women. She always had time for her family, friends and neighbours. Friends were always welcome at her kitchen table for a cup of coffee and a game of cards. The family would like to thank Dr. Fraser, the staff at the Morris General Hospital and the Morris Home care staff for the loving care she received. If friends so desire donations may be made to the St. John Lutheran Church Memorial Fund. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 3, at 11:00 a.m. at the St. John Lutheran Church in Rosenfeld, with interment following at the Sewell Cemetery.
