Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWINSTON ST. LUKE PAYNE It is with deep regrets that we announce the death of Winston St. Luke Payne who, after a brief illness, suddenly but peacefully passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at the age of 82 years. Remaining to forever cherish Winston's memory are his son Trevon Julian, a resident of New York; daughter Allison Johnston; grandchildren, Reno, Joel, Cass, and Silken; brother and his closest sister Molly Hart; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends throughout Trinidad, South America, the U.S. and Canada. He was predeceased by many brothers; sister; and Parents Fitz Roy and Rosetta Payne. A resident of Winnipeg, Winston was a well educated man who possessed his Masters degrees in both education and economics. He taught for many years at Portage Collegiate Institute and touched the lives of many educators and children. Winston went on to continue working with the department of education and later with the department of Agriculture. He loved to take pictures and had a wonderful way of capturing the beauty around him on film. Winston's funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 8 at 1:00 p.m. in the Sturgeon Creek United Church, 207 Thompson Drive. Heartfelt thanks to Allison's mother Kathy Johnston for her time, love and caring for Winston during the last of his days. Special thanks to his friends Dennis Kennedy, Pat Jones, Perry and Joanne Johnston, as well as to James Malott for coming all this way to lend his support. Also a Special thanks to Cornell Grey for the support he has given to Allison and Winston's grandchildren. AFTERGLOW I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one. I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done. I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days. I'd like the tears of those who grieve to dry before too long, And cherish those very special memories to which I belong.
