OLIVE NAFOSTOWICZ (NAFTEN) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Olive (Ollie) Nafostowicz on October 30, 2007 at Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 91. Ollie was born October 6, 1916 in the North End of Winnipeg and lived there all her life. She was predeceased by her parents Lucia and Michael, her brothers William and John and sister Ann Pauk. She is survived by her brother Alex (Loretta) and sister Sylvia (Edward) and numerous nieces, nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews. After leaving school, Ollie was employed in the garment industry. From there she left to start work at T. Eaton Co. in 1946 and remained there until her retirement in 1976. Ollie's favourite thing was working in her garden and many of her family members benefited from the fruits of labour. Other pastimes included doing crossword puzzles, reading and her weekly visits to the Casino. Ollie was a longtime member of Blessed Virgin Mary Church. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, November 5 at 1:30 p.m. at Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, 965 Boyd Ave. with Rev. Fr. Volodymyr Bashutskyy officiating. Interment to follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Honorary pallbearers will be her nieces and nephews. Flowers gratefully declined.
