JEANETTE GAYLE LAUGHREN (nee GOSSEN) On Sunday, August 26, 2007, in Sudbury, Ontario, Jeanette passed away unexpectedly at the age of 68 years. She leaves to mourn her husband Floyd Laughren; children, Tannys (Bob Yeamans), Joel (Anita) and Joshua; grandson Max Laughren; mother Grace Gossen of Winnipeg; sisters, Pat McLaughlin (Patrick), Jesse Gossen (Ian), Sandra Gossen, (Darrell), Kate Letkemann (Tim). Many nieces and nephews and dear friends and colleagues will sadly miss her. Jeanette was born in Hepburn, Saskatchewan, to Burt and Grace Gossen. The family moved to Winnipeg in 1950. She was raised in Wildwood Park where she was a long standing member of the Fort Garry United Church, singing in the choir for many years. She graduated from St. Johns College and went to work at the Fort Garry Library until her marriage to Floyd in 1963. Floyd and Jeanette went east, finally settling in Lively, Ontario. Here they raised three children and Jeanette returned to the work she loved at the Lively Public Library. She was also very politically active, supporting Floyd in his long career as a Member of Provincial Parliament in Ontario and working tirelessly for many social causes. Jeanette loved traveling, books, and was a master crossword puzzle solver. She continued to be deeply spiritual throughout her life. At the time of her death, she and Floyd had retired to a lakefront home in Whitefish, Ontario. A moving celebration in Jeanette's life took place on August 29, in Sudbury, Ontario.
