GEORGE EDWARD LOFTO January 4, 1929 - November 2, 2007 It is with deep sadness the family announces George's passing. George leaves his wife of 55 years Frances; children, Merril (David), Grant (Lori), Laurel (Bruce), Cameron (Michele), Kathy (Doug); grandchildren, Morgan, Kelsey, Hayley, Christine (Jordan), Matthew, Eric (Christina), Ryan, Katie, Jen, Tara, Bryan and great-grandchild Isabel; brothers, Eugene (Joan) and Donald (Jane). He was predeceased by his parents, Elner and Kay Lofto and brother, Dennis. Dad was born and raised in Dacotah, where he and Mom farmed and raised their children. He rented out his land in the early 80s, started G G Trucking and was employed by Valmar Airflo for many years. After retirement, they moved to Starbuck where they have enjoyed the last seven years. You could always find Dad helping out a neighbour, starting a new project, working in the yard or on route to Nick's for breakfast. Every day at 5:00 he enjoyed the meeting at the B.H.C. in Starbuck (for a diet Coke). Dad was very proud of his children and grandchildren and enjoyed nothing more than when we were all together. He was a man of few words but he was always there to lean on when we needed him. Thanks so much to all who have helped us over the last two years and a special thanks to Cisca and Jessica, who were Mom's miracles that day. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 6 at 2:00 p.m. at the Starbuck Trinity Lutheran Church. Interment has already taken place.
